Electronic Music 10 (5 credits)

In Electronic Music 10, students are introduced to the fundamentals of music production using GarageBand in a Mac-based lab equipped with MIDI keyboards. Students will explore composition and music making in a variety of genres while learning essential music theory, history, and applicable technology. No prior musical experience is required—just curiosity and creativity. This course provides an engaging entry point into digital music creation and performance. 

Electronic Music 20 (5 credits)

In Electronic Music 20, students build on the skills developed in Electronic Music 10, continuing their exploration of music composition and production using GarageBand. Students will deepen their understanding of music theory and apply more complex techniques to create original works in a variety of styles. Emphasis is placed on creativity, technical proficiency, and artistic expression through digital media. 

Electronic Music 30 (5 credits)

In Electronic Music 30, students advance their music production skills using GarageBand, focusing on complex composition techniques and sound design. Students will deepen their understanding of music theory and explore global approaches to music-making, creating polished projects that demonstrate creativity and technical expertise. In addition, the course introduces career pathways in music technology and production, preparing students for future opportunities in this dynamic field.
