Hello to our Western Families,
We are approaching the final stretch of the semester; there are only four weeks remaining until winter break and just five school weeks until the beginning of the exam period! Our students are working hard to finish the semester strong.
We can't wait to see our talented students showcase their hard work in our upcoming Les Misérables drama production, and as the volleyball season wraps up, we look forward to the start of basketball season. Our basketball teams are gearing up for a great year.

Les Misérables
It’s show time at WCHS! Our much anticipated fall drama production, Les Miserables, runs next Tuesday-Friday! FRIDAY IS SOLD OUT!
If you are attending the show please arrive and be seated before the 7pm start time. NO latecomers admitted. Please enter through the Redhawks Doors off the student parking lot. Tickets will be available at the door for our Tues, Weds, Thursday shows for 20$ each. Cash only.
Grade 9 Parent IB Information Session
The grade 9 IB parent information session is occurring in the main gym and cafeteria on Monday, November 25th with doors opening at 6:00 pm.
Yearbook

French Immersion – French Challenge Exams
At some point next week, Grade 10 and 11 students currently enrolled in FLA this semester will be receiving an application form and information on the opportunity to do the FR10-9Y and FR20-9Y challenge exams. Their teachers will be distributing the package. The exams will take place on Monday, December 2 for FR10-9Y and on Tuesday, December 3 for FR10-9Y – after school in a variety of classrooms.
Students enrolled in FLA in semester 2 will be given the opportunity to challenge the appropriate course in April.
School Council
Dear WCHS Families,
It's that time of year again! We will be hosting the annual staff appreciation event December 17-19, 2024 and we need your help! Please sign up here to make a food / supply contribution or in the case that you cannot do so, we encourage you to send an e.transfer to wchsexec@gmail.com so that we can fund this event. All monetary contributions will be used to purchase food / beverages for our beloved WCHS Staff.
- Food contributions can be set to the school office between 8-9:30 AM on your chosen day
- We've provided a few suggestions but if you would like to contribute something else, please just let us know so that we do not buy something similar to supplement that day
- Please attach a list of ingredients as there are a number of WCHS staff with dietary or allergy restrictions
- Remember to mark anything sent with "Staff Appreciation" and send items in a disposable container
- Items like beverages / chocolates / plates etc. can be dropped off starting December 9th but please mark them clearly
Do you own or know someone that owns a restaurant in our community? If you are interested or know someone who might be interested in sponsoring this WCHS tradition we'd love to hear from you! Please reach out to autumn.holden@live.ca to discuss.
