Spanish Field Experience to Spain
Congratulations to Srta. Silvia Cebrecos-Sebastian and her accompanying teachers Mme Ghira and Mr. Wiebe for a successful Field Experience in Spain.
From October 14th to the 25th, they visited among other things, the Royal Palace, the Prada Museum, and Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabéu stadium. They visited Toledo on their way to Mérida for the Roman ruins and theatre and bullfighting history and arena in Sevilla. Flamenco lessons and a show were included in Málaga, an orienteering experience with students in Ronda, paella at the beach city of Nerja on their way to La Alhambra in Granada, an olive oil production site in Jaen, the windmills of La Mancha and back to Madrid. Those are only some of the highlights.
This field experience has been offered every two years at Western since 2015 (2017 and 2019). We are pleased to continue the tradition post COVID travel restrictions.
If your child is currently studying Spanish in grade 10, this opportunity may be something to consider in October of their grade 10 year. Although there were only 26 students who participated this year, previous groups have had between 39 and 41 student participants.
